Healthy Kids Chocolate Tahini Energy Bars

Easy-to-do and healthy snacks is a 'must' for a mother. You are going to love my chocolate tahini energy bars, not only because is a healthy, nutritious with no-animal fats snack but also because is a recipe with 3 ingredients only and no baking at all!

We all know that kids love chocolate. So, in this recipe we use the dark chocolate with 50% cacao, tahini (an excellent source of omega-3 and omega-6 with high levels of calcium and protein) and honey.

My son loves giving treats! He asked me if we could make something to give his friends at school. With little ingredients, almost no-time available and rich imagination I made these energy bars. They turned out to be huge SUCCESS!

This recipe makes 16-20 pcs, depending on how big you want them to be. The texture is quite heavy that's why I like to cut them small, roughly 4*5cm each.

Here's what you'll need:

250 gr. dark chocolate with 50% cacao, cut in small chunks

250 gr. Tahini

100 gr. Honey

tip: if you like you can add any kind of nuts

Prep: 20 min

Freeze: 1 h

No cooking

  1. Put the chocolate chunks in a medium glass bowl and microwave (500-600W) for 3-4 min until the chocolate melts.

  2. Then, add the tahini and the honey and stir until is a smooth mixture.

  3. Take a medium-size baking tin (mine is 16*25cm), line it with parchment paper and pour the mixture in.

  4. Put it in the freezer for at least 1h. Then cut them in small bars.
